Access control
Access control stands for regulated access to certain areas by means of a set of rules defined by the operator that determines who has access when and where. Access control ensures that only authorized persons have access to the areas assigned to them in buildings or secured zones on a site. These access authorizations can be restricted in terms of time, for example by means of fixed expiry periods or specific times. Access authorization is checked either by human security personnel, such as employees of a security service, or by technical access control systems that verify proof of identity. In principle, material or electronic, mental and biometric identification features can be used for this access control.
Electronic access control
Electronic access control is a modern method of controlling access to buildings, rooms or specific areas in a secure and efficient manner. It is increasingly replacing traditional mechanical systems such as keys and locks, as it enables more flexible and secure management of access rights. Typically, electronic access control uses technologies such as transponder cards, PIN codes, biometric data or smartphones. These systems can log exactly who has entered which area and when, which is particularly important for security-critical environments. Another advantage is the ability to limit access rights in terms of time or to change them quickly, for example if an access control transponder is lost or an employee leaves the company. Electronic access control systems therefore offer an effective solution for securing buildings and monitoring access authorizations.
Transponders & Co. Access control for doors in the company
Access control is a crucial aspect of a company's security strategy. Transponder-based systems have proven to be particularly practical. With access control transponders, which are issued in the form of cards or key fobs, employees can easily open doors to offices, server rooms or storage areas. These transponders communicate with access control readers attached to the doors to check whether the person is authorized to enter the room. Depending on the security requirements, other technologies such as PIN codes or biometric recognition systems are also used in addition to transponders.
